With a 1-1 draw on the final day of the season enough to secure top spot, Oaklyn United FC’s CASA first team won the Segunda Division championship and automatic promotion to Primera.
An up-and-down season saw the Lions turn in some overwhelming performances as well as some disappointing individual matches. But persistence was the name of the game, with OUFC prevailing at crucial moments while rivals faltered.
In addition to another trophy in the cabinet, the victory delivers automatic promotion to Primera, the top flight of the CASA Soccer League system. It is the first time OUFC has occupied a spot in the top flight since joining the league in the fourth division in 2018.
